I was drawn to creating devotional paintings after my mystical encounters with St. Therese of Lisieux, a Mother Mary devotee. And then the rosary entered my life through the book "The Way of the Rose" by Perdita Finn and Clark Strand. A favourite story from that book is the oral tale that Mary holds open the window to heaven for those who've not been allowed through the gates. This story tickled me so and reminded me of the amazing women of my adolescence who broke all of the rules. In my mind the Divine Feminine is rising and Mother Mary is leading the charge, breaking all of the rules that don't serve this sacred journey.
