This painting captures a quiet moment from a snowy walk with my dog, a scene that evokes simple yet meaningful reflections. After watching him settle into a fresh snowbank, I felt the urge to lie beside him and make my own snow angel. But without my snow pants, I couldn’t fully embrace the moment. Instead, the scene transformed into something more personal. The blank canvas became a space to pour my thoughts and feelings, a process of cleansing and healing.
I imagined a child innocently creating a snow angel, only to have an actual angel join in and leave an enormous imprint. What began as a snow angel unexpectedly shifted into the form of an owl. The sunset light added an unexpected twist, altering the colors and infusing the piece with an element of surprise. The final image invites interpretation—whether it represents snow or the sky, it’s up to the viewer to decide.
