Eclipse
The Story
I was so fortunate to invited by my Indigenous friends to the eclipse ceremony of 2024. We sat in a lodge shell created from a grid of freshly cut saplings. As a sacred fire burned in the middle of the structure, teachings and songs were shared for over nine hours.
When the eclipse time approached, they covered the top of the lodge with a tarp so only the ground could be seen. The chanting and drumming became louder and louder as the sky went dark and I fell into trance. It seemed like seconds later the light was back and the ceremony concluded.
This was a defining moment in my spiritual journey and since then I’ve been gifted with so many visions and encounters.
The morning I painted this piece I was having memories of this time and then had visions of thousands of light beings.
I was guided to actually finger paint the base of this piece and that’s when the beings emerged. They come to me often and it’s
amazing they found their way into this painting!
